A choir, also known as a chorus, is a musical ensemble of singers. Choral music, in turn, is the music written specifically for such an ensemble to perform. Choirs may sing with or without instrumental accompaniment, with a small ensemble, or with a full orchestra of 70 to 100 musicians.
Holy Family Radville Choir
Thank you so much to all of you who so generously agreed to become a part of our Holy Family Choir. The response was actually fairly overwhelming and now we find that we have had to add more benches in our choir area to accommodate everyone. That’s not to say that we wouldn’t welcome any and all who still would like to join.
As the choir director, I’m looking forward to trying some new music and hopefully, incorporating part singing. So if you have any experience in singing descant, bass or alto, come and add your talents to the group.
Also, anyone who plays an instrument would be very welcome, especially to add interest and vibrancy to special celebrations.
For the time being, the choir will be singing only on mass Sundays. Practices will be 20 minutes preceding each mass. And we encourage all those who have elected to remain in their regular pews as part of our congregational choir, to practice along with us before mass and join in the mass responses with full hearts and voices.
